KIRKUS REVIEW

An analysis of the economy and social structure of the world, old (that of the ""conservative man"" or the English form of imperialism), new (that of Hitler's total state). A book for men primarily, and those with a good background of economic substructure. Reimann takes up the new total state, made possible by a pauperized middle class and a frightened conservative class, the rise to power through a military economy and perpetuated through constant war, the position of labor, of the new ""ersatz aristocracy"", and the new brand of imperialism in contradistinction to the old school ""white man's burden"" brand. Challenging reading in a clear cut study, based on considerable and very up-to-date research.
