A ""toughie"" -- which uses the impedimenta of the hard-shelled detective to make it convincingly so- coarse and obscene language, swearing, perversion, promiscuity and liquor. Nothing in the story to justify wading through the slime. Man suffering from paresis has a third stroke which seems completely to change his nature. A detective is called in by the children- too late, the man is murdered. Kent charges the family with murder- is shot at himself-there is another murder- and eventually Kent comes back on the case, and finds the murderer.
