KIRKUS REVIEW

As lovely a book, artistically, as last year's companion volume, A First Bible, with exquisite drawings by Helen Sewell. Thirty-five carols have been chosen, with -- fortunate or not as the individual views it -- a great percentage of unfamiliar ones included, and, in one instance at least, an unfamiliar words (Dr. Noble's own setting for Phillips Brooks' beloved Oh Little Town of Bethlehem). Eight out of the number are generally known; the balance unfamiliar to most people. Words and music, with arrangements simplified for children's singing.
