Here's a sequel to Treasure Island which I think the world could do without. The story begins with Jim and his mother back at the Inn, half of the treasure buried, and Jim living in dread of thieves and rogues. When the South Sea bubble carries away the doctor's and the squire's fortunes, and the balance of Jim's, Jim invests his balance in chartering the old vessel and securing officers and a crew, and off they set for the island and the rest of the treasure. But treason is aboard, and they have all sorts of adventures and misadventures, from which, needless to say, they emerge triumphant. The book is singularly lacking in the glamor of its fore-runner. Even Calahan's prowess in the matter of seamanship to have little sway.
