A British clergyman and Biblical scholar has given us in this book account of the various texts of the Bible on which the modern versions are is an interesting story, told in such a way as to appeal to the average describing the recent archeological discoveries which have a bearing on the Scripture the author includes the dramatic story of the discovery in 1947 by shepherds of the ""Dead Sea Scrolls"" including an ancient text of Isaiah, discovery in 1844 by a German scholar of valuable manuscripts of the Old in Greek which were reposing in a vaste basket of a monastery on Mr. Sin author emphasizes the fact that no various texts have ever come to light the slightest effect upon the cardinal Christian doctrines. Not apt to popular appeal.
