Another collection of science fiction, none of it very convincing, despite the true and tried quality of the contributors including Christopher Anvil, Cordwainer Smith, Neal Barret, Jr., R. A. Lafferty, William Morrison, A. J. Offutt, Clifford D. Simak, Evelyn E. Smith, and Satterfield. The situations in the stories vary: there is a thriller about the alarming effects of a potent and mysterious drug; the voyage of Helen America, who sailed the giant sailing ship Soul out to the stars in search of her beloved Mr. Gray-No. More group of dangerous house who can change themselves into anything from ash trays to rugs; a bear who turns into a wily monster; a writer of science-fiction who finds himself projected into one of his own stories; and four different stories which use science fiction situation as means of satirizing present-day power politics. None has any of the magic or credibility of Jules Verne, but perhaps for light, Late reading.....
