KIRKUS REVIEW

There are many people within and without the organized Church today who are keenly interested in how it came to be, and to date there has never been anything except tomes on Church History to supply the information. At the suggestion of a Conference in Calcutta, H. Pakenham-Walsh, sometime Bishop of Assam, was persuaded to write this book. There isn't a dull chapter and there is romance and thrill to be found throughout. It is the story of the first 1,000 years A.D. Get it off to a good start -- always stock it.
