LANCE OF MYSTERY HOLLOW

Substantial adventure story of Lance who solved the mystery of the vicious outlaws who burned his cabin, threatened his life and kidnapped a man. Lance's part in apprehending an historic brand of counterfeiters -- his role in establishing a well-known breed of horses known as Morgans -- parallel adventure of equally interest, sympathetically recounted, as Lance develops from a pathetic, lonely orphan to a responsible neighbor and independent citizen. Laid in and around a Vermont village in the early 19th century; good authentic detail and regional background. An excellent boy's book for 6th, 7th and 8th grades.
