SNAKES

The author is at particular pains to explode the old wives' tales and misinformation that have grown up around snakes for centuries. He is brief and his chapters proceed from origins and evolution through senses, locomotion, feeding and breeding to specific families of snakes. There are line drawings, throughout and some photographs. An appendix lists the antivenins for snake bite.
