THE STORY OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

Very interesting and rather fresh material, for most readers. The sort of book that school libraries must have, particularly if there is a school orchestra; that public libraries, music schools, etc., will want. The newest part for most readers, is that dealing with the kinds of materials used in musical instruments, how and where obtained. Each instrument is traced from its known origin, and the development, the musicians who have contributed to its musical literature are part of the picture. The last part deals with the scientific theories of vibrations, tones, etc.
