Worthy successor to Little Bruin (1949), a bear story introduced to American children from Norway. Per, the busy small boy, Little Bruin and Mother Bear have some misadventures in the pond when they all become stuck in the mud and have to rely on the gleeful operations of Michael Fox to release them from their plight. Delightful brown and white pictures by the author in which the earnest bears have very mobile expressions and the fox's fresh little grin is most contagious.
