CYCLE OF FIRE

At the verge of death, Dar Lang Ahn, a four-foot creature of 800 years stays from his home and encounters Nils Kruger, a boy from Earth. Surmounting the language barrier and escaping from the active volcanic regions are difficult prepositions; but each creature attempts to learn and to cooperate. Eventually Dar Lang Ahn learns not only language but a smattering of all the sciences and returns to his people to disseminate knowledge and the application of the scientific method. The return is mandatory because it is his turn to relinquish life that his genes may regenerate other living things. An imaginative and stimulating exercise which pre-supposes an intelligent reader.
