KIRKUS REVIEW

A random selection of athletic thrills from the history of the Olympic Games. Most of the athletes discussed are Americans and the emphasis is on the track and field events. The descriptions are of contestants and their contests are highly condensed. The sports appeal is always there but the information seems minimal and the message--try your hardest--as well as the fairly simple vocabulary, makes this a supplementary possibility for the youngest readers in this age group.
