Henry Morgan as the colorful central figure in an historical novel. He captures the intended bride of the Governor of Jamaica, Lady Judith, finds she had known him in , and she proves all too clever in her handling of him. She and his secretary, Brokenrood, sell him the dream of taking golden Panama, and he exchanges Lady Judith for aid from the governor in equipping an expedition. Judith plays three men off against each other, sends Morgan off on the mad adventure from which he brings back a king's ransom, only to find her marrying the Governor. He kills Brokenrood, and is sent to England for trial, but wins Charles II over by his tales of treasure, and is returned to the governor. Judith spurns her husband -- turns to Morgan again --and is in turn spurned by him. A tale of violent emotions and high adventure.
