TITO AND GOLIATH

A careful, concise, detailed history of the background of Yugoslavia's break with the Kremlin and of the events that have taken place since the spring of 1948 when Yugoslavia's defection from the brand of communism practiced by Moscow first became publicly known. The author points out that the double significance of the break was that it proved that world communism is not as united as its leaders would like to believe ( the famous Soviet theoretician Nikolal Bukharin once told the author that war was impossible between communist states), and that Tito has shown the way to the other satellite leaders, any of whom may well follow his course.
