Some not so pretty politics and their tie-up with the underworld as New York's Asst. D.A. Jeremiah X. Gibson cruises into the Brooklyn area on a case which involves the murder of a benevolent, paternal figure. The rivalry between mobs, the political ambitions of a Brooklyn D.A. whose honesty is circumscribed, the impulsive, independent manoeuvers of a pretty girl, these provide a fancy crisscross and doublecross for Gibby who uses a big needle to catch his killer... One of the more durable detectives and some strenuous stuff.
