KIRKUS REVIEW

The garotting of a New York City bank officer- whom everyone liked- provides little motive for Gibby, of the D.A.'s office, and puts the personnel under scrutiny. His secretary, protecting her employer as well as her beau- out on parole- is the victim of a second attempt to kill until Gibby is able to expose a private reserve banking enterprise and balance the books. The brisk efficiency as before.
