KIRKUS REVIEW

The setting a big city hospital, where the director of nurses is dying inexplicably of diabetes which up to that moment had been under control. Queer emotional tangle, involving two doctors, her niece, a student nurse, several people who hated her for the sadist she was. Circumstances suggested murder to one young interne, and in spite of warnings he ferreted through to the bitter end, proved his point, and let the murderer take suicide as a way out. Good reading, with touch of romance, good suspense, but probably not enough gore for the bloodthirsty.
