CHRISTMAS AT THE TOMTEN'S FARM

The compleat Swedish country Christmas, drawn in black and white on silvery gray, and neither sounding nor looking like the previous Tomten books. He appears only briefly in the 96 pages (once to show the contents of the shed), the balance being depiction and description of before, during and day-after Christmas activities. The pictures are impeccable in themselves, redundant en masse, and altogether this is too massive except for the study of comparative customs.
