That inveterate and indefatigable windmill-tilting knight, Don Quixote rides for several falls in a brief and bright new story book which extracts a few highlights from his campaigns. The combined talents of Messrs. Cervantes, Kastner and illustrator Lemke, (who has breathed new life into the old knight) prove a triple threat combination. The merry illustrations have a lightness, an airiness and sparkling color which shows the influence of Raoul Dufy. Eleven full page color illustrations and numerous black and white drawings decorate the tale....The companion book, Puss in Boots, has a much less attractive format. The illustrations seem confused, unrelated to the spaces which they encompass: the color combinations carry no particular harmony, nor does the draughtsmanship redeem these flaws.
