MAIN ISSUES CONFRONTING CHRISTENDOM by Harold A. Bosley

MAIN ISSUES CONFRONTING CHRISTENDOM

By

Publisher: Harper

This is a very thoughtful and thought-provoking volume. In it the Dean of the Divinity School of Duke University brings together the results of his lectures and conferences at pastors' convocations and therefore he reflects not only his own thinking but that of many forward-looking Protestant clergymen. What Dr. Bosley considers to be ""the main issues confronting Christendom"" may be discovered by a glance at the table of contents which shows that in successive chapters the author deals with our spiritual tragedy, skepticism, the bankruptcy of the intellectuals, religious liberalism, the Church and the common man, religious faith and democracy, the new world. This is essentially a book for preachers who are anxious to bring their message to bear upon the problems of the day. Others who wish to know what many liberal Protestant leaders are thinking will be surprised to find how at variance is that thinking with that of most secular newspapers and magazines.
