AZALEAS by Harold H. Hume

AZALEAS

By

Pub Date: May 25th, 1948
Publisher: Macmillan

Reported originally last July, and postponed twice since then, as follows: ""The material is handled in a somewhat different way from, for example, the book on begonias (Begonias for American Homes and Gardens-Krauss- also Macmillan) in that the listings are included in the text, as an integral part, and the space is devoted primarily to the facts the gardener interested in azaleas needs to know rather than the horticulturist or the botanist. The greatly increased interest in azaleas makes this a timely contribution to the gardening book shelf. Not only are species discussed, but there are sections on propagation, on soils and preparation, on planting, culture, care, feeding and pruning; on azaleas as house plants; on disease and pests.
