KIRKUS REVIEW

Game animals indigenous to North America is the subject of this compendium for young readers. Illustrated by Lee Ames, the book gives a fairly detailed description of fourteen game animals, their habits, their characteristics, and their histories. Written with no particular distinction, Hoofs, Claws, and Antlers nonetheless contains much that is both informative and entertaining, and succeeds, in a perfectly matter-of-fact way, in arousing the interest of its reader in both the familiar and obscure animals which populate our continent.
