KIRKUS REVIEW

Good historical fictionized biography of George Rogers Clark, as told by Clark's one time aide. The foolhardy and heroic gesture of Clark's little band and their wilderness trek from Fort Pitt to Vincennes which secured the Illinois country for the Colonies. The redoubtable Clark is pictured with his strengths and weaknesses -- a romantic figure -- and it is a rattling good yarn.
