Pride of Texas and king of the cowpunchers, Pecos Bill is the subject of this big, wonderful, laugh-full biography. There are other Pecos Bill stories, but this is unusually good, not only in the selection of yarns and tall tales, but in the appropriately casual and offhand manner of the telling. There is enough excitement and action to make several volumes of westerns, and the illustrations by Aldren Auld Watson in color provide good western atmosphere. A grand book for family reading and good for a lot of laughs. Don't limit to this age group- as all the family will like it.
