THE MAGIC CRICKET BOOK

Toy book, with a crickety gimmick which makes a snapping sound (a fairly sturdy one at that, but keep it covered if you want to save your stock!) Happy combination of novelty merchandise with sound, story fancy. Susan and Johnny learn at the magic castle that the cricket will give them their wishes and they adventure gaily through a succession of favorite occupations, normal ones for normal children (nurse and doctor, circus equestrienne and ringmaster, fireman and assistant, candy store owner, farmer, pilot, engineer, conductor -- and a wind-up back home in bed).
