OD'S GIRL

Rod's eventual girl is Marge Ragland, who has a background (which the author emphasizes) of mounds of virtue, virtue which seems distasteful when Marge shows that she cannot refrain from telling her father about her every misdemeanor and those of her friends. She stands supreme as a not very likable tattletale. Flanking the spotless Marge are Rod, a nice, hardworking lad with a smudged reputation, and his elusive friend Jerry, a wayward, embittered youth with real problems. Marge and Rod combine efforts to gain support for construction of a new school, and eventually bring Jerry into the fold. An unsatisfying potpourri of puppy love and trouble by the author of Confidential Secretary (1958, p. 507, J-161) and others.
