THE YOSEMITE STORY

By the author/photographer of California Harbors, Cargoes, and other well-done pictorial, explanatory books, this one serves to introduce both the National Park and the study of historical geology. The structural development of the whole Sierra Nevada range is described in general, then particularized with descriptions of specific formations in Yosemite Park. There are photographs, supplemented with diagrams, on almost every page; they have been very well chosen and do much to complete the explanations where the concise, factual text leaves off. The book will be of particular interest to West Coast readers, but it is also an excellent supplement to science classes studying geology and offers a more than topsoil deep acquaintanceship with the area.
