A delightful series of concept books, with stiff, glossy card stock to make them durable for use with young children. Each is a guessing game to play with Bear. By lifting the page flap, the child can see if he or she has guessed correctly. Lobe!'s illustrations in pencil and soft-color wash are full of warmth, whimsy, and action showing the world from the child's point of view. Appealing to read aloud or for independent browsing. They should help develop concepts of sequencing, time, days of the week, seasons, and appropriate pairing of objects and activities. In Bear Gets Dressed, for example, the child is asked to guess what Bear will wear when it is chilly, rainy, sunny, cold. or rainy; by opening the flap the child can see Bear enjoying the weather outside, wearing appropriate clothing. These should find a wide audience.
