Books on Mexico are still on the ""up and up"" -- so this should be another bit of grist for that mill, and can be safely recommended as one of the best of the lot. Sell either from the point of view of a travel book, inspirational and appreciative, rather than tied down to cold facts of where to stop and what to see; or from the angle of personal adventure in a colorful and dramatic country, told with verve and humor and a keen sense of the interest value in the incidents selected for recounting. The ""idea"" back of their route is not overplayed, but gives focus to the historical interest in a new country.
