CRASH HELMET by Harry Allard

CRASH HELMET

Suares' frenetic, straggly cartoons give a far-out look to Allard's already off-the-wall yarn about a New Mexico vulture named Elmer--and Violet, the sexy mummy who roars up to his filling station on a motorcycle after an archaeologist has broken the seal of her sarcophagus. Elmer and Violet go dancing, and her arm comes off when they do the twist, but she repairs to the ladies' room to put it back on. Later Vi begins racing cars and wins international fame; the couple marries and drives underwater to London; and when their children start growing, Vi takes up football. Allard tells it almost that offhandedly, for the comix crowd though not at the comic book price.
