Original and expressive concepts of time, perhaps above and beyond the age of this group at times, but of such imaginative appeal that, read aloud, there will be delighted acceptance of the ideas. Besides the kinds of time -- ""Seconds are bugs, minutes are children"", timepieces -- clocks, grandfather clocks ""never run...They walk, slowly"" and watches ""are small clocks to carry"", there is a description of taking a clock apart and what happened when it is put together -- ""It ran away as if something had frightened it""....An unusual book, delightful in its execution.
