A BOY GROWS UP by Harry C. McKown

A BOY GROWS UP

By

Pub Date: April 21st, 1949
Publisher: Whittlesey

This, too, is mid teen and up- in a new and enlarged edition of a useful book for boys on the threshold of manhood. From all angles their problems are explored:- family and school adjustments, finances, how to handle growing sexual maturity, vocational problems, boy and girl friends, organization work, responsibility, health, evaluation of adult goals. These are high spots in a book which should help a boy to think through his ideals and habits, the whole tone of the book is thoroughly masculine, sincere, reasonable. The book has been carefully revised since its original publication in 1940, with recognition of differences in boys today, their relation to life, the more realistic facing of growing up processes. There are six new chapters, dealing with education, marriage preparation, the new maturity, etc. A book that should be in High School libraries- recreational centers- public libraries.
