KIRKUS REVIEW

That British continuity featuring reporter Quinn and insurance man Piper never seems to run out of petrol. Here the team takes a long look at the cliff where consultant surgeon R. Q. Hesseltine was last seen. Has he drowned? Suicide? Two young women subsequently die (one's another doctor, one's a patient-mistress) before a finale designed for added thrills--and for the slightly credulous--lifts the energy level. Still, a comfortable evening for a compliant readership.
