THE LITTLE HILL

By

Pub Date: Aug. 18th, 1949
Publisher: Harcourt, Brace

A lovely little gift book of child-like poems about everything, told in odd, interesting rhythms and with singing alliterative and rhyming words. The author's little scarlet drawings that illustrate it are as cooky and spritely as the little gnome, seated on a jaunty leaf, who perches on the cover and jacket. The format is small and interesting looking. All in all there's a kind of enchantment about it which children will feel when they see it and the feeling will be heightened when they start reading and looking at those little surprising pictures of tiny trees, houses, a sailing ship and a cat. Bound in boards.
