In book form, the play in which Helen Hayes has been starring on Broadway for months. The play had sufficient run in other eastern cities to give it that much of an impetus of interest. Actually, it reads better than it plays -- this story of Marriet Beecher Stawe in the height of her fame. The interplay of characters makes this a family picture, which starts with the moving into the new house, during the process of the writing of Uncle Tom's Cabin. As a play, it is wholly dependent on the character interpretation.
