KIRKUS REVIEW

We've been called to account for suggesting that some of these Rivers of America have more local interest than general; but we still think some of them do, and this is one. Newest in the series, this traces along with the careers and personalities of the rivers, the history, -- social, economic, military, of those parts of New Jersey encompassed by the two rivers. It is informal, spritely, entertaining, as a collection of incidents, personalities, events, settlements, heroines and heroes, battles, industries, politics (yes, even Frank Hague) that together make informative reading and spry coverage.
