EXPERIMENTS WITH HEAT

This is the third title in Norton's Experiments Series (...with sound...with Machines and Matter, 1963, p. 1009, J-301). The experimental equipment suggested is easily obtained at home, i.e. -- ice cubes, irons, aluminum foil, etc. The experiments are presented with step-by-step instructions accompanied by large and clearly labeled line drawings. Preceding the experiment is a discussion of the problem being tested with pointers on what to watch for and questions to reason out. A list of suggestions for further reading features encyclopedia articles and text books in physics. The user is directed to his library and advised to seek his own reading level. An activity book for science students that should be welcomed by teachers.
