WHAT HOLDS IT TOGETHER? by Harvey Weiss

WHAT HOLDS IT TOGETHER?

Pub Date: Sept. 15th, 1977
Publisher: Atlantic/Little, Brown

The author of several superior crafts books takes a novel cross-section approach in this introduction to joiners and fasteners of all sorts. In 48 pages that pop with corky incidental drawings, Weiss chats informatively about hammering nails and matching adhesives to the job at hand, and he touches on the basics of screws, bolts, rivets, soldering, and forging as well. Just to give the concept its due, some knots, sewing stitches, magnets, and suction cups are also thrown in. Put them all together and you have a few how-to tips, a few curious facts, a bit of nuts-andbolts knowledge--and, more important, another way to look at a lot of things.
