STICKS, SPOOLS AND FEATHERS

Sticks, spools and feathers, each broadly defined are the basic materials suggested in this arts and crafts book. Unlike most books of its kind, this presents a minimum of projects and a maximum of instruction. Best of all, the illustrations consist mainly of sharp photographs. The projects range from stick towers through wooden animals to a simpls electric motor that works. Most of them will appeal to male builders, though the weaving, paper and collages have special appeal for girls. A list of basic tools, tips on nalling, using dowels, sandpapering, etc., introduce an excellent and attractive guide which happily requires no adult intermediary for interpretation.
