FISHERMAN SIMMS

This looks younger than the text actually is, because of the format- a wide, picture book shape, full color pictures on every other page, and marginal drawings in between carry the story told in the text. Fisherman Simms had a pleasant life; he fished every day and the story of his adventure in shortening the three mile distance to the stream makes a satisfying tale for this age level. Children will like the sense of home coming at the end. Pretty pictures by Margaret Bradfield make this good value at this price.
