KIRKUS REVIEW

Yet another biography of our boy falls right in line with all the other accepted (or unaccepted, if you wish) versions. However, we noticed a discrepancy or two. Miss Davis doesn't mention that Davy was sent to work for Mr. Siler to pay off a debt; Crockett senior is made out to be more amiable than in the other stories. There are other unexplained elements too and to top them off, Davy grows up to go on his grandiose rather than meritorious way. Bear statistics for this are 132 killed.
