A novel arrangement, with each set-up of menus and recipes prefaced by running commentary containing sound advice on kinds of food, use of leftovers, sound buying, cheap cuts, meat substitutes, dairy product substitutes, sound ways to save money, emergency shelf supplies, variety in menu building, etc. Of the two books, I'd be inclined to give the vote to this one as covering more ground to much the same end.
