The sub-title reads: A Pageant of the Ages from Aspasia's Day to Ours. And that is what it is, skimming the cream off the jug, beginning with the Age of Pericles and coming down to the present. Factual material, pretty thin -- since the spread is so great -- and of value only for someone who wants a quick glance at the subject. Sounds like a series of lectures, rather than a formulated book. Somewhat superficial -- could fit into school or college libraries.
