An English lecturer is kinder to us than Margaret Halsey was to his compatriots. He writes with malice towards few, of places and people encountered. He enjoyed the warm hospitality, he covers familiar ground -- our trains, food, manners and customs. Very British in his observations, and in his confessed ignorance and amusement over things we should not notice. His lecture tour took him to the West Coast, North and South.
