SCANDINAVIA; JAPAN

These are not very thorough background books, but serve as good introductions with their highly concentrated and simplified history, culture, art appreciation, outline of development in industry, manufacturing, education. In the book on Japan there is a tracing of the dream of conquest. In the book on Scandinavia considerably more stress on government, social legislation, peaceful cooperatives, progress towards handling of international questions...Rather fragile and very pretty books, bound in light paper and board.
