FIVE DOLLS AND THE MONKEY

Pub Date: April 2nd, 1967

A mischievous monkey married to a doll, a houseful of dolls with headsful of projects, a British Elizabeth who can be doll-sized or child-sized, all appear in a stilted text which tells cute-cute stories. Like the time the five dolls and Elizabeth went skating on broken glass with cold cream to make them slide, or the time they took up dressmaking and the littlest sewed her dress up so the legs went through the armholes and the hem tied at the neck. Each doll has her set phrases and the monkey speaks only Cockney.Preciously contrived and rather dull.
