CAPTAIN PEGGY OF THE ""MAMIE-L by Helen Dickson

CAPTAIN PEGGY OF THE ""MAMIE-L

By

Publisher: Nelson

Peggy's father was a logger, and the family had always lived on the water in British Columbia, not far from Vancouver. Peggy had studied from mail school courses, but wanted desperately to go to High School in the nearest town, and subsequently to become a Mission Boat nurse. This is an unusual background for a homely family story of Peggy and her adventures (and chiefly misadventures) with her own boat, the ""Mamie -L"". For one born to familiarity with the sea she seems singularly inept or careless or both. An excellent picture of a life of which we know little, with health, amusement, outside contacts all coming by water.
