ROYAL GIRLHOODS

Here is a useful book, for it contains much material that is not readily accessible -- and it is good reading as well. Presumably authentic stories of key episodes in the lives of girls who played in later life important parts in history. A glance at the table of contents should place the book for librarians and schools, as one sees among the names included Jadwiga of Poland, Isabel of France and England, Mary of Burgundy, Anne of Brittany, Elizabeth of England, Mary of Scotland, Wilhelmins of the Netherlands, Elizabeth of old and new Sweden, and the little Elizabeth of Great Britain. There are others, too. And the stories are well told and good reading.
