KIRKUS REVIEW

A grand mystery story in a unique setting, a French manor house in the mountains back of Quebec in the dead of winter. There's a priceless collection of old music boxes -- there's a secret staircase and a secret room -- there's a ghost skier -- a mysterious woman in grey -- a sugar house entered and left without keys or tracks -- an unexpected ""paying guest"" who arrives before his time. And in the midst of it all is Wendy, daughter of an architect, who loves working with her father and who takes on running the manor house as a fill-in until his return.
